European Basketball News: Jimmy Clark is out of luck, but at least he is expected to return to action in a relatively short time.
According to a EuroLeague press release: “Maccabi Tel Aviv has confirmed that guard Jimmy Clark will be out for the next two to three weeks due to a thigh injury.”
Clark, 25, suffered the injury after slipping during practice on Monday and feeling pain in his groin. An MRI scan showed a partial tear in his thigh muscle.
The timing of this incident is unfortunate: Maccabi will open the 2026-27 EuroLeague regular season on September 24 with an away match against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, and even according to the most optimistic recovery estimates, there is very little time left for Clark to be ready to appear in that match.
Entering his third season in the EuroLeague and his second full season, Clark is averaging 9.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals*in the 2025-26 season. Starting in Round 26—starting with a 21-point performance in which he also hit the game-winning shot against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade—he averaged 15.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in his final 12 appearances of the season.
The timing doesn’t feel right: Maccabi will kick off the 2026-27 EuroLeague regular season on September 24 with an away game against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, and even by the most optimistic recovery estimates, the time left for Clark to prepare for that game is tight.
