Italian League News It’s roaring again with SS Lazio’s transfer activity being in the spotlight. At the end of the transfer window, the Roma club announced a number of strategic moves, including important deals for their forward players, Petar Ratkov and Boulaye Dia.
SS Lazio, known by the nickname Aquile, completed an outbound transfer that involved several special conditions. Petar Ratkov is on loan at Levante with a purchase option worth €16 million, while Boulaye Dia heads to Rennes in a deal worth €10 million. Both of these deals could become mandatory if certain conditions are met, as reviewed by leading football observer, Gianluca Di Marzio.
For Boulaye Dia, Rennes will pay a loan fee of €2 million, with a purchase option for €8 million. This option turns into an obligation if Stade Rennais manages to avoid relegation from Ligue 1 this season. Meanwhile, Petar Ratkov officially joined Levante UD. The deal also involves a loan fee of €2 million with a purchase option of €14 million, which will become mandatory if Ratkov is able to score 10 goals for Levante.
This step is interesting because Ratkov himself was quite a controversial figure from the start. Lazio’s coach at that time, Maurizio Sarri, even expressed his ignorance about the player who was recruited from RB Salzburg for a fee of €13 million plus bonuses. Now, under the direction of Gennaro Gattuso, Ratkov is leaving the Stadio Olimpico after only appearing in nine matches, and only starting three times.
Meanwhile, Lazio is not only busy with outgoing transfers. The club also succeeded in bringing in Albert Gudmundsson from Fiorentina on a paid loan of €1 million, and a purchase option estimated at €11 million plus a bonus of €0.5 million. With this dynamic transfer strategy, Lazio seems determined to remain competitive in Serie A this season.
