IBL Basketball News: Rajawali Medan Management is making another big decision. The team from Medan has decided to part ways with Julius Cesar Wongso.
In the last three days, Rajawali lost an important figure in his team. Because before parting ways with Julius Wongso, Rajawali also said goodbye to Andrian Danny Christianto. Unlike Julius, Andrian decided to retire from professional basketball.
Julius himself underwent his final season at Rajawali with poor performance. He received a one-year contract extension on October 1, 2025. After that, Julius only played seven matches in the 2026 IBL regular season, with minutes played under six minutes per match.
“Thank you for the memories and every struggle, for all the dedication and hard work. Thank you for fighting and giving your best for the Rajawali Medan family. Good luck for the next chapter! Once a Rajawali, always a Rajawali!” Rajawali wrote to Julius Cesar.
Rajawali got Julius Wongso in the middle of the 2024 season. At that time, Rajawali was involved in a player exchange with RANS Simba Bogor. Rajawali sent Rheza Butarbutar, in exchange for Julius Cesar Wongso. His first impression in Medan was extraordinary. Julius played 12 games and averaged 4.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
He performed well in the 2025 season with averages of 3.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 25 games. But in the 2026 season it seems that the decline will begin to appear. So the one year contract was not extended by Rajawali.
