“I feel like sometimes our game is like that. We might be able to win against some of the top pairs, but we can also lose against some of the other pairs. I think we need to discuss this further with the coach,” said Aaron.
“Perhaps, we need to make some changes or adjustments to our playing style when facing Liang (Wei Keng) and Wang (Chang). I think this is necessary to beat them.”
It is worth noting that former world champions Jun Hui-Yu Chen have a 6-0 head-to-head record against Aaron-Wooi Yik, and they also defeated the Malaysian pair in the semifinals of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Likewise, Wei Keng-Wang Chang eliminated Aaron-Wooi Yik in the semifinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In this case, China’s men’s doubles coach, Chen Qi Qiu, may have found a strategy to deal with Aaron-Wooi Yik. Herry IP, known for his tactical intelligence, needs to find a solution so that Aaron-Wooi Yik can defeat Wei Keng-Wang Chang.
