Volleyball News – Garuda Pertiwi, the Indonesian women’s national volleyball team, is preparing to face a big challenge at the AVC Women’s Volleyball Continental 2026 which will be held in Tianjin, China. Being in Pool B, they share space with strong teams such as Kazakhstan, Thailand and Australia. The tournament, which took place from 21 to 30 August, was a proving ground after facing a series of international competitions.
Reporting from BlokBojonegoro.com, PBVSI has made thorough preparations for Arsela Nuari and friends who are scheduled to compete in three international arenas in 2026—including the AVC Nations Cup, SEA V League and AVC Continental Cup. The match against Thailand on August 24 is the main highlight, considering that they are the defending champions who managed to beat China 3-2 in the 2023 final. Previously, Indonesia experienced defeat against Thailand with a score of 1-3 at the SEA V Cup in Hanoi.
Before facing Thailand, Garuda Pertiwi must first play its first match against Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, Australia as the closing opponent in this early phase cannot be underestimated thanks to its competitive player base. Indonesia is scheduled to play Australia on August 26, at 14.00 WIB. Each match in this initial phase is very important because it will determine Indonesia’s journey towards the next round, namely the quarter-finals, semifinals, match for third place, and at the end, the final.
This event is not only a contest for the throne of Asia, but also a pathway to the next global competition. With 12 participating countries and Thailand as the defending champion, Garuda Pertiwi took advantage of this opportunity after qualifying through the Southeast Asian qualification route. Every challenge from the opponent must be taken with extra seriousness so that Indonesia can advance to the next round with flying colors.
