Volleyball News: The prestigious SEA V Cup 2026 tournament finally ended with Vietnam winning the title in Leg 2 which took place at the International Velodrome, Jakarta, Sunday evening West Indonesia time. This fierce competition confirmed Indonesia as 3rd place after beating Cambodia with a score of 3-1. Previously, in Leg 1 in the Philippines, Cambodia managed to become champion, thus placing Indonesia as runner-up.
Even though they failed to reach the top, the extraordinary struggle of the Indonesian Men’s National Volleyball Team received high appreciation from their coach, Reidel Toiran. The Cuban coach did not hesitate to praise the national team players who had fought tirelessly even though they arrived in declining physical condition after competing in the 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup in India.
“Really, they are extraordinary athletes. I don’t feel the need to say much, because everyone could see their exhausted physical condition when they arrived in Jakarta,” said Reidel Toiran with great appreciation. He emphasized that even though the energy had decreased, the players’ enthusiasm was still burning to give their best in front of loyal fans in the country.
Indonesia’s mainstay setter, Alfin Daniel, also voiced the same thing about the physical challenges faced by the team. He admitted that fatigue spread throughout the team, but the determination to achieve victory did not waver. “Playing at home and going home without results is something we cannot accept. We continue to maintain that motivation even though our physical condition does not support it,” said Alfin enthusiastically.
Even though they have to fight with the remaining energy in their bodies, Alfin and his colleagues still uphold the principle of nothing to lose, mobilizing every remaining energy to achieve the best results.
