Volleyball News: Indonesian National Volleyball Team coach, Reidel Toiran, has prepared a list of 22 players who will take part in the selection process for the 2026 Asian Games. This step is part of Toiran’s strategy to ensure the team appears competitive in the biggest multi-event event in the Asian region.
“Yes. We will call around 20 to 22 players,” said Reidel Toiran to reporters in Jakarta, Sunday.
Toiran said that the composition of players who have been brought to the 2026 AVC Nations Cup and 2026 SEA V Cup is likely to be maintained on the long list of players who will take part in the selection.
“The existing players remain part of the team, but there will be additions in several positions that we consider need to be strengthened,” said Toiran.
Toiran emphasized that the most important factor as an indicator is the player’s physical condition, which must be excellent.
This assessment will be carried out by the Indonesian coaching team for approximately one week to see the players’ fitness.
“In the first five days to one week we will see their condition. Which one is better for the team’s needs. Later there will be a selection process from the coach and a joint evaluation. We are all one team,” concluded Toiran.
Previously, the Indonesian National Volleyball Team secured third place in the 2026 SEA V Cup volleyball competition after overcoming fierce resistance from Cambodia in the second leg, 3-1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24) in the match for third place at the Jakarta International Velodrome, Jakarta, Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam National Volleyball Team won the second leg of the 2026 SEA V Cup. Vietnam secured the title after silencing Thailand in five sets, 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-25 and 15-10) in the final round which took place at the Jakarta International Velodrome, Jakarta, Sunday evening WIB.
