Italian League News: Italian journalist Marco Bucciantini assesses that the investigation into the Serie A refereeing system involving Gianluca Rocchi ended without clear results.
Marco Bucciantini returned to discuss the investigation that involved Rocchi in his capacity as referee designator and the refereeing system in general, in a program on Radio Sportiva.
He answered a fan’s question which highlighted how Inter Milan’s name had also been dragged into this chaos for no apparent reason.
“This investigation has foundered, foundered in the heat of summer. This is a trivial investigation and in my opinion it actually raises concerns about how certain investigative instruments can be used, as well as about the seriousness of certain prosecutors.” he said.
“We entrust personal freedom to the prosecutor’s office, the protection of personal freedom. We must not feel threatened by baseless investigations like this one,”
“Rocchi resigned because he withdrew from the path, and something remains, although the solution is clearly not to restore his name completely. But imagine how he went through all this.”
