Volleyball News – The 2026 SEA V. Cup final is ready to bring together Thailand and Vietnam in a fierce, eagerly awaited duel. Meanwhile, Indonesia, as the host, had to fight against Cambodia to win third place after less than satisfactory results against Vietnam.
On Saturday afternoon, July 25 2026, the Thai national team proved its dominance by sweeping Cambodia in three straight sets at the Jakarta International Velodrome. Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team had to recognize Vietnam’s superiority with a score of 1-3.
Indonesia vs Vietnam match story
Under the direction of experienced coach Riedel Toiran, Indonesia appeared confident with its best formation. Alvin Daniel leads as setter, supported by the strength of middle blocker Hendra Kurniawan and Putra Bagus. In defense, Abhinaya as libero, collaborated with the deadly trident of Farhan Halim, Boy Arnez and Fauzan Nibras.
The first set showed Indonesia’s toughness, which immediately beat Vietnam to lock the score 25-22. However, this temporary advantage then turned into a challenge when Vietnam’s defense strengthened, and Indonesia had to give in in the second set with a score of 22-25.
The tension spilled into the third set. Luvi Febrian’s presence was not enough to turn things around, and Vietnam widened the score difference, closing the set with a 19-25 win for Vietnam.
Indonesia started the fourth set with new hope after leading 1-0. However, the stable performance of the opposing team made Indonesia lag behind. Score after score passed, and even though they had raised hopes when approaching 11-12, Indonesia continued to fall behind, ending the match with a score of 18-25.
With this result, Vietnam advances to the final against Thailand, while Indonesia prepares to face Cambodia in the battle for third place. High hopes accompany the Indonesian retainers’ struggle to secure the podium at this prestigious event.
