Volleyball News – The second match of the 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup in Ahmedabad, India, has finally arrived for the Indonesian men’s national volleyball team. On Monday (22/6/2026), Reidel Toiran’s squad will face the strength of Qatar after previously experiencing defeat to South Korea with a landslide score of 0-3 (22-25, 22-25, 21-25).

Indonesian retainers, including Farhan Halim, tried to recover from their initial defeat. Before the tournament started, the Indonesian national team was ranked 52nd in the world with 78.41 points. However, due to the negative result against South Korea, their position dropped to 55th with 73.04 points.

In contrast to Indonesia, Qatar started the tournament brilliantly. They successfully beat Thailand with a perfect score of 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-17), and remain firmly in 22nd place in the world with 160.82 points after adding +4.1 points.

Indonesia is part of Pool B, facing Qatar, South Korea, Thailand and Oman. Initially, Pakistan and Turkmenistan were registered as participants, but both teams ultimately chose to withdraw from the tournament, leaving Indonesia to face only four opponents. This condition means that the number of matches in Pool B is less than in Pool A, which is participated by six countries.

In the next match, the red and white team relied on the strength of 14 main players such as Muhammad Reyhan, Raihan Rizky Attorif, and Farhan Halim under the guidance of interim coach Reidel Toiran. Reidel replaces Sergio Veloso who is still processing the work visa administration process. With all the preparations in place, the match against Qatar is a crucial moment for Indonesia to show its true teeth in this tournament.
