Spanish League News: Rayo Vallecano coach, Benat San Jose, gives his views ahead of the La Liga match against Barcelona and praises Hansi Flick and Raphinha.
The Barcelona coach has led his team to two consecutive wins in La Liga and is now aiming for a third consecutive win in the 2026-27 season.
Rayo Vallecano coach said that Flick had built a great team since taking over the reins at the Catalan giants.
“Barcelona’s overall philosophy, since Cruyff’s arrival, has been the driving force behind the club’s identity. This is what has produced great players from the youth academy. Quality, technique and very fast and accurate decision making have always been the differentiating factors,” he said at a press conference.
“The coach managed to unite everyone to move together. This achievement, combined with an aggressive playing philosophy in a positive sense, makes them a tough team. They have also brought in a number of important players, but the coach deserves a lot of credit.”
The Rayo coach is also wary of the threat posed by Raphinha after seeing the Brazilian player score three goals in his opening two games for Barca this season.
“Well, they are a world-class team. It’s natural that they recruit world-class players. They have great strengths, are in extraordinary form, and appear stronger when playing at home. However, they also have weaknesses. We have to master every phase of the game, perform well in all these aspects, and utilize our strengths to attack their weaknesses. That’s where our focus is,” he added.
“Raphinha, whether playing as a center forward or on the wing, is very dangerous. We analyze the opponents and their areas of influence individually before each match. Whoever plays, our plan will not change; only the percentages will be adjusted based on their profile in detail, but the main idea remains the same.”
