Volleyball News – The Indonesian Men’s National Volleyball Team recorded a brilliant achievement by advancing to the semifinals of the 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup after beating Oman with a score of 3-1 in the final match of Group B which took place last Friday night at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Ahmedabad, India. This victory confirmed Indonesia’s position as runner up in the group with 7 points, behind South Korea who leads the standings with 9 points.
The hard-fought match started with a tight first set win, 25-23, for Indonesia. However, in the second set, Oman recovered and beat Indonesia with a score of 20-25. Not discouraged, Indonesia then dominated the third set with a score of 25-19 and ended the game by securing the fourth set 25-21.
In the first set, the dominant action of the Indonesian National Team was driven by the impressive play of Fauzan Nibras and Boy Arnez, even though they fell behind at several critical moments. Oman’s resistance, which occasionally reduced the distance between points, was managed well by Indonesia, especially towards the tight final points.
The second set saw Oman’s aggressive counter-attacks, although Farhan Halim’s efforts with a number of spikes and ace serves put Indonesia ahead. However, Oman ultimately managed to steal this set with a solid block strategy.
Rising again in the third set, Indonesia showed their strength with impenetrable blocks and sharp serve attacks from Farhan. Indonesia’s confidence became even brighter when they quickly managed to take a big lead over Oman, locking up the set with a position of 25-19.
Closing the match in the fourth set, Indonesia appeared crazy from the start. A series of hard spikes from Boy Arnez and solid blocks by the duo Putra Bagus and Hendra Kurniawan were the mainstay of the National Team in maintaining their lead until the last point. This success also led the Indonesian National Team to move steadily to the semifinals, ready to face the next challenge in this prestigious tournament.
With this result, the Group B standings ended with 9 points for South Korea, 7 for Indonesia, 6 for Thailand, 5 for Qatar and 3 for Oman. All eyes are now focused on the National Team’s continued action in the semifinals of the 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup.
