Linda Noskova Reveals Issues Faced After Winning Wimbledon

Ligaolahraga.com –

Tennis News: The journey for Czech tennis player Linda Noskova has not been completely smooth since her extraordinary victory at Wimbledon at the start of this summer.

The 21-year-old tennis player won the first Grand Slam title of her career at Wimbledon by beating compatriot Karolina Muchova in the final to lift the prestigious trophy.

The Czech tennis player became the youngest Wimbledon women’s singles champion since compatriot Petra Kvitova in the 2011 season. However, she has only won two matches since then, after she was knocked out in the first round of the Canadian Open before falling in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open.

In an interview with The Guardian, Noskova stated, “Once you feel like you’ve realized the dream you’ve always thought about and longed for, it’s very difficult to move on — as if it never happened — and go back to chasing the same thing all over again.”

“You never know what’s really waiting for you after you win a Grand Slam title — your first title — so everything felt new to me. I wasn’t prepared for any of that. So, whatever happened next was a big surprise. There were so many different experiences. Meeting new people, getting new opportunities and taking on new tasks, it was a really busy week.”

“The motivation is not 100 percent the same as it was right before Wimbledon. But I know it’s difficult. I know a lot of tennis players have faced similar problems. But, after all, this is the world of tennis. You have to recover from what has happened and start all over again, so that’s what I’m looking forward to.”

The Czech tennis player has now shifted his focus to the 2026 US Open season, where he will appear as the sixth seed. In the first round of the Grand Slam, she will face the host tennis player, Katie Volynets, who is currently ranked 91st in the world.

If the 21-year-old can overcome Volynets, who she has never faced before, she will face a qualifier or Lanlana Tararudee in the second round. She is in the quarter-finals of the same draw as world number 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who is aiming to win her third straight US Open title.

Noskova’s best achievement at the US Open so far is qualifying for the third round which she achieved last season.
